What I am currently doing with my small business

I run Alice’s Sprinkles&Smiles, a home-based baking business specializing in cakes, cupcakes, biscuits, scones and muffins. I create made-to-order treats for birthdays, events and special occasions. I also supply fresh scones, muffins and biscuits daily to customers in the CBD, mainly shop workers who don’t have time to leave their stores. This daily service allows me to meet a real need for quality, homemade baked goods in a fast-paced environment.

If I acquired funding this is how I would expand my small business

With funding, I would invest in essential equipment like a stand mixer (R10000), a reliable oven(R7000) and a fridge (R13000), buy ingredients in bulk to reduce costs and improve my packaging with branded materials. I would also set up a dedicated baking space at home to increase production and maintain quality. In addition, I would like to introduce a wider variety of baked goodies to my menu such as mini loaves, tarts and pastries to attract more customers and offer something for every taste.

How will funding impact my small business

Funding will help me move from a small home to a more efficient, professional environment. It will increase my capacity to meet daily demand, improve product quality and presentation and help me build a stronger brand identity and grow my customer base. Expanding my product range will allow me to cater to more customers and stand out in the local market. More than that, funding would bring me closer to my dream of making Alice’s Sprinkles&Smiles a full-time business that creates joy, jobs and opportunities and also making it a well known, trusted source of delicious baked treats nationwide.
