About Aniq House
What I am currently doing with my small business
I have completed a six-month course in sewing at the Al Fidaa Foundation which I started in July of 2023 and graduated in December 2023. I am more inclined to modest wear as I am a modest woman myself. I focus more on Islamic wear for women, men, and children, I make hair bonnets as well.
I also intend on making traditional isiXhosa wear for the younger generation, and older, including beadwork and alterations.
I will also be selling bags, gloves, and other accessories soon.
I use material of good quality and that is eco-friendly.
I want to cater to my clients’ needs and exceed them so I can grow as a business in Uitenhage, also catering Nationwide.
If I acquired funding this is how I would expand my small business
I would expand my business by online advertising through social media, word of mouth, I would cater to people around South Africa by using Postnet, PEP paxi and aremax to get their orders to them on time and make sure they return for more products. I will be employing 2 seamstresses who can do the line of genre I aim for to be my garment makers so my business can go faster in production, this will be of course as soon as my business has been fully established and I have made a name for myself in order to pay their salaries.
I also intend to give back to about 5 matriculants, varsity graduates who cannot afford a garment, or suit for their matric farewell or graduation day as a means of corporate social responsibility annually.
How will funding impact my small business
Funding will be of great help as I need a lot of equipment to make the garments as the sewing machine I have does not sew some fabrics well and I have to make some garments at Al Fida. I also do not have an overlocker and also have to use the one at school or I do not overlock at all which makes my work look so unprofessional and unneat. I have researched some equipment and materials at the MHC world https://www.mhcworld.co.za/ and have compiled prices of all the things I believe I need to have my business up and running and they came to a total of R80 000.
