About Nomfundo Magwaza (NjiNji Classic Bakery)
What I am currently doing with my small business
Njinji Classic Bakery is no ordinary bakery. It ethos is firmly grounded in not only bringing sweet joy at weddings, birthday parties and all other special occasions but also prides itself in handing down baking skills and knowledge to disadvantaged kids for a brighter future.
My name is Nomfundo Perseverence Magwaza, a mother of 2 and the one and a single black female who is proud to say that I am the sole breadwinner fully responsible for putting food on the table for my mother my kids and several family members. I have been always have passion for baking and hoping that one day I could have my own bakery. That why when I saw an application from All Fidaa foundation that they need someone with a love for baking I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. It was a very big opportunity for me since I could not afford to pay a College or University. I learnt so much at All fidaa baking school. Today I am the Founder of NjiNji-Classic Bakery that is located KwaMashu and well known in my community with constant orders for sweet somethings for any occasion. Our specialities are cakes for all occasions, muffins, snowballs, scones, biscuit as well as dough products.
If I acquired funding this is how I would expand my small business
The next step that I am focused on is to expand my bakery by getting equipments for my and further the dream of helping the youth who were once like me, hopeless and like me, hopeless and without a job. I believe that with the proper training and skills, their lives can also be changed, one cake at a time. The July unrest where shops were looted was testimony that the very bare necessities such as bread can indeed run out. Furthermore, places that are at the outskirts of our province often have shops at far distances and it becomes expensive for people to get there just to get a loaf of bread. Training the unemployed youth to need this increasing demand for bread will be a much needed breakthrough for these communities.

Should I get the much needed assistance to grow my business it will be put to great used by a person who has known hardships and has prevailed. We are at a moment in our country where all seems hopeless, we can no longer sit and wait to hope, we have to create it, not only for ourselves but for the children we are raising.
Thank you for this opportunity to be able to tell you about my business and will hope for a favourable outcome as I embark to reshape the future of many, one cake at a time.
